Jimmy Baker was born c. 1915 and passed away in 2010. He was a senior Pitjantjatjara man based in the outstation community of Kanpi on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara lands of northern South Australia. He was a frequent visitor to Uluru where he was an acknowledged expert in traditional consultancy for the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and surrouning environments. A respected Ngangkari, or traditional healer, he was also a highly experienced carver of men's traditional implements who has recently begun painting.
