Patrick Tjungurrayi was born in the desert near Jupiter Well circa 1940. He is a Pintupi speaker who divides his time between Balgo and the Pintupi homeland community of Kiwirrkura to the south. Patrick is the younger brother of Brandy Tjungurrayi, who also lives in Kiwirrkura. In 1999, Patrick contributed to the Kiwirrkura men's painting as part of the Western Desert Dialysis Appeal.

Patrick Tjungurrayi was named among the Top 50 of Australia's Most Collectable Artists in Australian Art Collector issue 31, January - March 2005.

Patrick Tjungurrayi was awarded the Western Australian Premier's Indigenous Art Award in 2008. His work is held in the Art Gallery of NSW, Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia and the Aboriginal Art Museum of the Netherlands.

Patrick has participated in numerous group exhibitions since 1997.

C'est vers 1940 que Patrick Tjungurrayi est né dans le désert près de Jupiter Well. Il parle la langue Pintupi et partage son temps entre Balgo et la communauté Pintupi dont la patrie, Kiwirrkura, est plus au sud. Patrick est l'un des jeunes frères de Brandy Tjungurrayi qui vit lui aussi, à Kiwirrkura. Patrick contribua aux œuvres offertes par les hommes de Kiwirrkura lors de l'Appel du Desert de l'Ouest en faveur de la dialyse.

Le nom de Patrick Tjungurrayi figure sur la liste des 50 artistes australiens dont les oeuvres sont les plus convoitées, liste parue dans le numéro 31 de janvier-mars 2005 de l'Australian Art Collector. Les œuvres de Patrick sont exposées en permanence dans plusieurs musées, dont la Galerie d'Art de NSW à Sydney, la Galerie Nationale d'Art à Canberra et le Musée d'art aborigène contemporain aux Pays-Bas.

Patrick a participé à plusieurs expositions depuis 1997.
