Audrey lives in a very small community in the Central Desert region on Australia, approximately 300kms or 185 miles north east of Alice Springs, with her family. Audrey is one of Mary Morton's 7 children.

Audrey began using Batik in the '70s with a group of female artists from Utopia. Her work was included from 1977 to 1987 in a travelling exhibition which toured Australia and overseas. Audrey began working with acrylic on canvas in 1988. Her work has since then featured continuously throughout Australia and the US. She paints Aweley (Women's Ceremony), and many Dreamtime stories that altogether Audrey calls Country, as it all belongs to her country. Her dreamtime stories include Alpeyt (Wild Flowers), Rainbow Dreaming (Boor-la-da), Ilyarn, Ilyarnayt, Tharrkarr (Sweet Honey Grevillea), Yerramp (Honey Ant).

Cicada Trading gallery exhibited Audrey Morton's work in the USA, France and the Middle East in 2006.
