Barbara Napangarti Reid was born around 1964 and is from Tjukurla. Her uncle is renowned artist George Ward. Ningura Napurrula is Barbara's mother's sister, but she calls her 'mum'.

Barbara is an established artist who paints womens sacred stories - minyma - which revolve around the role of the woman as healer and provider within her Ngaanyatjarra society. Barbara's paintings are beautiful depictions of places such as rock formations and sand hills which are so much a part of the land from which she comes, paintings of the lands to which she is custodian and the songs that explain them.
