Kayi Kayi Nampitjinpa was born in the desert circa 1946 and is the widow of Nolan Tjapangati, who was a shareholder and artist of Papunya Tula Artists. In 1999, Kayi Kayi contributed to the Kintore women's painting as part of the Western Desert Dialysis Appeal.

Kayi Kayi Nampitjinpa has participated in a number of exhibitions since 1999 primarily in Australia, but also in Denmark, France, Germany and Singapore. Her work is held in the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory of Australia and the Aboriginal Art Museum in the Netherlands.
