Nora Nungabar was born circa 1920 near Lipuru, in Western Australia, also known as Well 37 on the Canning Stock Route and remembers her mother looking after her in a hollow in the side of a sand hill. She paints her country around her home of Kunawarritji. Kunawarritji is also known as Well 33 on the Canning Stock Route. As a young woman, she travelled north with the drovers to Balgo where she settled and raised a family.

Nora Nungabar continues to live at Kunawarritji community to look after this country and her family. She paints for Martumili Artists and Warlayirti community art centres.

Nora's artwork was included in the Canning Stock Route Exhibition at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra in 2011.
